After speaking to apple (3 times) they didn't know if the i7 in an early 2011 MBP could fully utilise 16GB RAM (there are different models of the i7) i contacted Intel, and scrawled through their website and found the i7 in the early 2011 15" can utilise 16GB RAM however not sure on other models.Ģ - The 1.35V/1.5V running voltage difference between 13, 15 and 17 " MBP's: After talking to apple (3 times) it turns out non of their techy's had a clue whether there would be an issue with putting 1.5V rated RAM modules in a 1.35V rated logicboard (which the 13 and 15 " MBP's have) Therefore i went ahead and put the RAM in anyway and it works finģ. ****A couple of niglers i can hopefully shed some light on for the sceptical consumer:ġ - The intel core i7 supportability/utility for 16GB RAM.

Overall Review: Packaging was good, product works great.Īfter great deliberation on whether to purchase this or not for my early 2011 15" MBP, i'm glad to now say how it was the right decision in doing so.

Pros: 1 - Compatible with early 2011 15" MBPĢ - Quality brand, lifetime warranty (so Corsair state)Ĭons: No cons as of yet, however sad to see the item significantly drop in price a couple of weeks after purchase, inevitable though i guess.
